Throughout his time in Coral Gables, Michael has been actively involved in local initiatives:​

Advocacy Against Restrictive Ordinances: Michael played a pivotal role in opposing the truck ordinance that once prohibited pick-up trucks in residential driveways, a regulation that was eventually overturned.​
